Last Monday we talked briefly about the strength of adding narrative story or commentary to our images, inspired by the presentations from Doug, Ken, Kath, Helen and Marjorie.
Following on from this, Michael (Balfour) has sent us these four images which illustrate the approach beautifully. He entered these into a poetry competition a few years ago.
Michael says “The poem and (three of )the photos are mine overlaid with downloaded swallows. Hiawatha almost lives again, and although I thought it fitted the swallows, the judges rather scathingly disagreed.”
Presenting our images accompanied by text narrative, commentary or even simple captions can enhance the “story” behind each photograph.
