Leaving your DSLR at home: An iPhone experiment

The tools that we use to practise photography are changing rapidly. And hobbyist photographers are often caught in one of two camps; either we grumble defensively that this new fangled stuff is not “proper” photography, or we embrace the new technology with an enthusiasm that overwhelms our critical evaluation.

So, what do you think of  iPhone (or similar) photography?

This article by a professional photographer offers an interesting insight when he recently spent two weeks in Vietnam shooting just with an iPhone. Nothing else. Just the phone. His account includes an assessment of the 36″ enlargements  made when he returned home.

Perhaps more importantly is the quality of the images he uses to illustrate his experience.
